Hashtags geared toward a specific day of the week that have a certain theme attached to them are especially popular these days. #ThrowbackThursday (or #TBT), for example, encourages Instagram users to post an old photo on Thursdays.
Throwback Thursday is arguably the weekday hashtag trend that gets the most activity, but if you need an excuse to post something on Monday, Saturday, or whenever -- you're in luck! There's an endless amount weekday hashtag trends for every day of the week, and they just keep growing.
Here are some great weekday hashtags you can start using right now. Just pick a day of the week, find a photo with that theme, post it with the hashtag and you're done!
Sunday Hashtags
Everyone seems to really love #SelfieSunday on this day. Of course, you can post selfies any day of the week, but on Sundays you have one extra reason to do so -- the #SelfieSunday hashtag trend!
#SundayFunday is another big hashtag trend with millions of posts. Because it's the last day of the weekend, this hashtag encourates you to share whatever fun activity you might be doing before heading back to work or school for another week.
Monday Hashtags
Monday is a special day for all the female users on Instagram, because it's #ManCrushMonday.
#ManCrushMonday or #MCM has you post a photo of the guy you're crushing on. Not surprisingly, this hashtag sees a lot of photos of male celebrities, models, athletes or the boys from One Direction.
Tuesday Hashtags
On Tuesdays, Instagram users get to post a visual representation of how they've transformed over time.
For #TransformationTuesday, lots of people post photos of themselves when they were younger, or they post their fitness results, or they just share some other story about how they've grown and changed over time.
Wednesday Hashtags
The ladies of Instagram have their #ManCrushMonday, so it only seems fair that the guys would get one too.
#WomanCrushMonday or #WCW is exactly like #ManCrushMonday, except obviously it involves photos of women instead of men. Post a photo of the gal you have a crush on and tag it with this on Wednesdays.
Thursday Hashtags
As mentioned above, this day is all about the #ThrowbackThursday tag. In fact, it's so popular, you'll often see it used on other popular social networks, like Twitter and Facebook.
Simply post a photo from your past and tag it. Perhaps it's the sense of nostalgia attached to this theme trend that makes it one of the most used hashtags on Instagram.
Friday Hashtags
It's the end of the week, no need to get up early the next morning, so #FridayNight is the hashtag to be using on this day.
Strangely enough, Friday even has its own version of Throwback Thursday, but instead it's called#FlashbackFriday (or #FBF). It's has exact same theme as #ThrowbackThursday in which you post an old photo, but for those who missed the chance to do so Thursday, #FlashbackFriday sort of just gives them an extra day to do it.
Saturday Hashtags
Well, it looks like #FridayNight kind of transfers over to Saturday, because #SaturdayNight gets a huge amount of photo posts as well.
It's still the weekend, and Instagram users know how to enjoy themselves. That's all there is to it.
